ScoreMe Privacy Policy

Effective 1 November 2026

Information we collect

ScoreMe stores your sign-in email and the profile information you choose to provide, including your name, phone number, date of birth, gender, city, club and level of play. Tournament participation can also store team rosters, partners, disciplines, schedules, point-by-point scores, results and organizer, administrator or umpire assignments. If you allow notifications, ScoreMe stores a notification token for each device you sign in on, the device platform (iPhone or Android) and your notification preferences. When you request an email sign-in link, the app remembers that email address on your device until the link is used.

How information is used

We use this information to authenticate users, verify email addresses, send sign-in, verification and password-reset emails, manage registrations, create draws, schedule and score matches and ties, calculate standings, show tournament history and statistics, and send the notifications you choose to receive about registrations, draws, matches and results. Organizer changes to draws and match assignments are recorded in internal logs to keep tournaments accountable. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers

Authentication, database storage and backend processing use Firebase and Google Cloud services. Notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging and, on iPhone, the Apple Push Notification service. To protect ScoreMe from abuse, the app uses Apple App Attest and Google Play Integrity to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the app; these checks do not include your profile details. Those providers process information only as needed to operate and secure ScoreMe, subject to their applicable data-processing terms. Crash reports include device and app state needed to diagnose failures; they contain no profile contact details.

Visibility

Other signed-in ScoreMe users can find you in the player directory by your name, city, club and level of play, and can see your tournament results and statistics, such as recent matches, partners and placings. Tournament participants and organizers may also see team membership, draws, schedules, scores and results. Your email address, phone number, date of birth and gender are never shown to other users.

Notifications

You choose whether to allow notifications on each device, and you can turn notification categories on or off in Settings > Notifications. A device’s notification token is removed when you log out on that device. Queued notification messages are deleted automatically within 30 days.

Retention and account deletion

You can request deletion from Settings > Delete Account after confirming your identity with your password or, if you sign in without a password, with a link sent to your email. Deletion is blocked while you own an unfinished tournament, captain an approved team, hold an approved tournament entry, or umpire a live match. The app lists each blocker and how to resolve it, for example by handing over ownership or asking an organizer to reject your entry; while a request is blocked you can withdraw it and keep your account. Once accepted, your sign-in account is removed and you can no longer log in with it. Your name, email, phone number, date of birth, city, club and other profile details are removed, together with your public directory entry, your notification tokens and preferences, and any registrations that were never approved. Completed tournament history keeps working: scores, results and bracket links are preserved, but your personal details there are replaced with a neutral “Deleted player” label. A technical account reference is retained inside historical records so past results stay linked correctly; it grants no access and holds no contact details. Registering again creates a new, unlinked account.

Backups

Encrypted disaster-recovery backups can retain deleted data for up to 30 days. Backups are access-restricted and used only to recover from data loss. Account-deletion records are reapplied after any restore before the restored database is used by the app.

Children and youth events

Tournament age categories do not by themselves authorize a child to create an account. Organizers are responsible for obtaining any consent required for youth participant data and for limiting the information they enter.

Your choices

You can review and update your player profile, change your notification settings, log out at any time, or permanently delete your account. Questions and privacy requests can be sent using the support contact published with the ScoreMe store listing.

Policy updates

This policy may change as ScoreMe features or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
